These potholders are great. They can be used for as pot holders as well as trivets for small things like tea cups and sauce jugs. The colour of the fabric works well withe all the different coloured trims used. The fabrci is prewashed so when they need a wash they will not shrink. between the layers of fabric there is wadding. The fabric used is standard weight cotton
